- What is EthioBazaar?
- A global marketplace being built for Ethiopian businesses, food, products, services, creators and communities. Right now it is a waitlist and research project; the marketplace itself is not live yet.
- Is it available now?
- Not yet. This is Phase 1: we are collecting demand and supply data from around the world to decide exactly what to build first. Joining the waitlist gets you early access when we launch in your area.
- Is joining free?
- Yes. Joining the waitlist is free for individuals, businesses and creators, and it is not a contract.
- Which countries will be supported?
- The waitlist is global from day one and anyone, anywhere, can join. Operational launch will be prioritised city by city based on where demand and business supply are strongest. We do not have launch dates to announce yet.
- Can businesses join?
- Yes. Restaurants, shops, cafés, grocery stores, fashion, beauty, catering, delivery, professional services and more. Founding businesses help shape categories, features and city priorities.
- Can creators join?
- Yes. Chefs, home cooks, recipe and food creators, bloggers and TikTok, YouTube or Instagram creators can join as founding creators. Any commercial use of your content would be agreed separately.
- Will there be food delivery?
- Possibly, in cities where restaurants and customers want it. Delivery is one of many things the survey asks about; it is not a promise.
- Can shops sell products?
- That is the plan: online storefronts, local discovery and, later, payments and shipping. Shopping is a major pillar of EthioBazaar, not a side feature.
- Can I suggest a category?
- Please do. Every branch of the survey has an "Other" option and an open question. The categories we launch with will come from these answers.
- Does joining require a commitment?
- No. You can ignore our emails, unsubscribe at any time, or ask us to delete your data. Marketing consent is separate and optional.
